Hi there! I’m Jeanette, the tarot reader and astrologer behind Wabi Sabi Tarot. You wouldn’t believe how many people assume Wabi Sabi is my name, but in a way, the philosophy has always felt like home to me: embracing the imperfect, the evolving, and the beautifully unfinished.

I’ve found comfort in spiritual practices for as long as I can remember. In high school, I was the friend who always had a horoscope to share or a psychic to recommend. It fascinated me, but I never imagined it would one day become my work.

Then came 2020. I had my first baby (questionable timing on my part), and I was working as a special education teacher. I was overwhelmed, exhausted, and deeply unhappy. I started visiting readers more often. I was searching for clarity, reassurance, and honestly, hope. That was when tarot really opened up to me.

Tarot tells the story of life: the light, the shadow, the cycles, the movement. Some cards ask us to hustle; others remind us to rest; all of them remind us that nothing lasts forever. That truth gave me comfort when I needed it most.

Soon enough, I left teaching. With more space and curiosity than I’d had in years, I began taking tarot lessons. In classic “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” fashion, tarot led me into astrology, and I realized how naturally the two wove together. Tarot connected me to my intuition and divine messages; astrology helped me understand the deeper “why” of who we are.

And the rest is history. I’m so grateful that you’re here and honored that you trust me with your energy.

  • Tarot is a divination tool that helps you understand yourself and the world. It is all about intuition and energy. The story of tarot begins with The Fool, and ends with The World, and tells us about the ups and downs that we will face in day-to-day life. Tarot is a tool that I use to understand energy, and where I should put mine. It helps frame decisions in a way that to-do lists and pros/cons lists cannot.

  • Your birth chart is a blueprint to who you are, cosmically speaking. I believe that you were born at the exact moment you were meant to be born, and astrology helps you to understand that. Your birth chart tells you who you are and the current planetary movements tell you where you can put your energy in to meet the Universe. At the end of the day though, please remember that you have free will. Astrology is a weather forecast, and it is up to you if you’re going to bring your umbrella or not.

  • The first thing I want you to know about my readings are that they are NOT scary. If you have ever received a reading and left scared, please don’t go back. Tarot and astrology are all about intuition and understanding yourself in a deeper way. In our readings, you can expect us to focus on things that you CAN do, versus what you cannot control. I like to think of readings as a massage for your soul. My goal for each session is to have you walk away feeling empowered and invigorated to go forth and put your magic into the world.
